Party School Reporting

The content of the blog today was the reflection of Live Reporting about Party School.

How does the story use "nat" or natural sounds? Give an example of effective use

The story put the real story of students who are doing party and being drunk because of alcohol, It was really effective because the story about the number one party school.

Reporting . . . where does the information come from? Who are the sources?

They got the story from one of their producer of their radio show who talked to them about what happened in the night around the college. Then they went and started reporting. Their sources are the students.

Interest . . . what makes this story interesting?

The story is really interesting because it's about Party School. But, what those two people who reported this story, make it more interesting. Like the story line, they reported step by step and put some fact about the thing that happened. They were making live reporting

If you could do a strictly audio story, what would it be? Whom would you interview? And what "nat" sounds would you HAVE to get to properly tell the story.

If I got the chance to interview, I would love to interview the students. And once again I would live to interview the President of the University. For the "nut" I would give the sound of people who are doing party and the last put the Miley Cyrus song, Party at USA.

Twitter for Journalist

What's your twitter account?

This question is commonly used in Indonesia when people meet each other. No wonder, Indonesia is the third populous twitter users in the world after USA and Brazil.

Since the first time it was launched. Twitter has became one of the very famous social networking after facebook. Many people used this social networking. From younger to the older, from the student to the teacher, from ordinary people to the President, and from mafia syndicate to the journalist.

For the context of journalism, at least there were two reasons why the Twitter is useful for a journalist. First, twitter can be a used a s a tool to spread the writing. Through Twitter, journalists can disseminate his writings by putting the link of his writing as an update status. In order to make the readers interested on reading that link, the Twitter status must be as attractive as possible.

Second, twitter can be the tool to absorb an information. Through facebook, a journalist can absorb an information not only from society but also any other media as reference. For example; White House, FOX, BBC, NBC, or even Wikileaks. By following media or institutions account, it facilitates a journalist to obtain the information.

Multimedia Journalism Class: Part 2 - Blog

One of the interesting blog I got from Seattlepi.com is: http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlesportsguy

If you are from Seattle and a big sport fans, this is the website you gonna visit. All the contents is all about sport. Let say, 80% basketball and 20% American football.

According to me, this blog is a news but it's more personal opinion. Like what they said, it's running commentary sport. The good things from this blog because the contents are really represent of people in Seattle. If they write about basketball, it's about basketball club which is exist in Seattle like UW basketball team or WSU basketball team. Or even the team which is not exist anymore, Seattle Super Sonics (R.I.P)

However, the owner of the blog only post twice or three times in one month, which make people wait for too long.

This blog also provide so many links about sport. They also provide gadget where you can share this blog by facebook or twitter. They also allow people to comment in their story.
